Hot off the presses!  Microsoft announces Blio, a free PC based book reader that boasts an impressive array of features, including text to speech, support for high-quality graphics, guided reading as well as the ability to embed interactive elements to a book such as quiz or animated diagram.

The reader only runs on Windows PCs, meaning that us Mac folks are out of luck (unless we are running Parallels which allows us to have both the Mac Operating System as well as Windows on the same computer.)  Unfortunately this reading software does nothing to solve the biggest issue of all – people don’t like to read text on their computers.  But I’m excited to see where this goes – it’s pretty amazing stuff!
